Anime Recommedation

I originally had plans for Easter break but then everything fell through so I had to stay in ND. Sad as it is, I have time to catch up on some anime I have been wanting to watch. I picked up anime again this April because I forgot about my Crunchyroll free premium membership and ended up paying for it! :D So far I have finished Boku no Hero Academia Season 3 (僕のヒーローアカデミア)、 Tsurezure Children (徒然チルドレン) and this Easter: A Place Further Than the Universe (宇宙よりも遠い場所). Each episode is typically around 20-23mins so it's easy to binge-watch. I still have a lot on my list so hopefully I'll be able to catch up this summer.

Boku no Hero Academia

This is about the story of how a highschool boy learned to be the greatest hero in history. It is an inspiring story as it follows his journey from being a quirkless (no superpowers) child in a world full of strange superpowers, to a boy who inherited the quirk of his most admired idol + hero! During his time studying in a hero school, he faces a lot of adversaries and has to fight villains even though he has not yet matured properly.

It is an anime filled with action and friendship. The characters are very lovable and I'm sure you'll find someone that you like, even among the villains. It's a long series so I recommend watching it during the summer or long holidays.

Tsurezure Children

If you're not into something too action-packed, this anime might be good for you. This anime follows the story of different couples and showcases how they interact with each other. It's very funny most of the times, and sometimes it's just very sweet.

This anime is more casual and doesn't particulary have a plot. This is a good anime if you like a laidback series.

A Place Further Than the Universe

This anime is a coming of age story about four highshool girls' journey to Antarctica. It starts with a girl, Mari, who wants to do something different with her life, and she ends up picking up a lumsum of money which belongs to someone, Shirase, who coincidentally goes to the same school as she does. Mari finds out that Shirase wants to go to Antarctica, and she decides she should go with her, so she can do something new. Their journey of trying to convince adults to let them go lets them meet a convenience store worker, Hinata, and a teenage idol, Yuzuki, who ended up going to Antarctica.

This anime is incredible. It works with the complex characters on themes of frienship, family, growth and acceptance. Each character arc was well-written and expands the story in a very cohesive way. It's definitely a good watch. It's not like the typical slice-of-live anime with cute girls. It's an anime in which cute girls go do something with their lives and grow as a person.

学校の規則

小学校しょうがっこうから高校こうこうまで同おなじ学校がっこうで勉強べんきょうしました。その時ときは大変たいへんだった。私わたしの学校がっこうはきそくがきびしいでした。例たとえば(For example), かばんは キーホルダー (keyholder) や ピン (pin) もさせられないんでした。けいたいも持もって学校がっこうに行いきませんでした。そして、髪型かみがた(hairstyle) もきれいにさせられたり、黒くろいと青あおいの ヘアバンド しかさせないたりしました。前髪まえがみ(bangs) は眉毛まゆげ(eyebrows) を触ふれれば (touch) ダメ した。前髪まえがみは長ながすぎるとき、切きらせられました。爪つめ(fingernails) も同おなじでした。爪つめは学校がっこうで切きらせられました。スカート や ネクタイ もみじかいなら、かえさせられます。ほかのきそくもあります、でもたいていはそな感かんじ。きびしいけど、いい自己じこ規律きりつ(self-discipline) の練習れんしゅうなんじゃないかと思おもいます。それに、制服せいふく（uniform) はかわいいし、大丈夫だいじょうぶです。

ルームメイト

大学一年生と二年生の時、私は同じルームメイトと住んでいました。あの時、ルームメイトに迷惑にかけましたが、時々ルームメイトに迷惑をかけられてしまいました。

ルームメイトは早寝早起きの習慣かあります、でも私は夜に宿題やプロジェクトを遅くに始める習慣があるから、よく夜中に寝て、次の日は遅く起きます。私たちは喧嘩をするのが好きじゃありませんだから、最初はどちらも何も言えなかったが、大学一年の春学期時、ルームメイトは私に文句を言いました。それで、私わ寮の

スタディールームで勉強しました。私は友達に文句を言いましたが、ルームメイトにはないんでした。大学二年生の終わるとき、ルームメイトは来年度はルームメイトをしないほうがいいだといいました。今は、その人は私の隣の部屋にいます。半分（half）ルームメイトになりました。同じトイレを使います。文句わもうないんです。

小学生しょうがくせい、中学生ちゅうがくせいと高校生こうこうせいの時ときに、私わたしも私立しりつな学校がっこうで勉強べんきょうしました。私わたしの母はははあの学校がっこうで仕事しごとを しますので、先生せんせいたちは私わたしと私わたしの妹いもうとの事ことを知しります。家族かぞくでは中国語ちゅうごくごを勉強べんきょうしているひとはいませんから、母ははは私わたしたちの成績せいせき(results) のために、小学校しょうがっこうの時ときチューター に行いかせました。チューター はとても厳きびしい(strict)だった。毎日まいにちは宿題しゅくだいを させたり、予習よしゅうもたくさんさせたりしました。毎日午後まいにちごご４時ときごろまで ９時ときまで勉強べんきょうさせました。


中学生ちゅうがくせいになったときに、チューター は高たかすぎましたから、やめました。でも、頑張がんばってしなければいけませんでしたから、自分じぶんで頑張がんばって勉強べんきょうしました。それでも、数学すうがくと中国語ちゅうごくごの成績せいせきはまだまだから、いつも母ははに𠮟られました。とても ストレス だった。



だけど、高校こうこうの時ときは、いいな数学すうがくの先生せんせいに会あいました。先生せんせいは私わたしの クラス にたくさんな宿題しゅくだいと RE-DO　を させたり、小しょうテスト もたくさん受うけさせたりしました。あの時とき、あの先生せんせいの事ことを嫌きらいでした。私わたしは悪わるい点てんを取とった時とき、私わたしの母ははにいった。家いえに帰かえるとき、母ははに𠮟られた。でも、今いまはとても感謝かんしゃしています。あんなに厳きびしいな経験けいけんがなければ、いい大学だいがくに入いらないから、苦くるしい(painful;difficult)経験                                              けいけんにさせてくれてありがたいんです。

Extensive Listening

I like watching Youtube videos in general so doing this extensive listening was just like my own hobby.

I like listening to Japanese music, but to really practice my Japanese I turn to street interviews. There's this one channel that does mainly that for their channel and they're called "Ask Japanese".

"Ask Japanese" is a really interesting chanel because they ask random people on the streets on what they think about various topics, from what they think about LGBT to what they think about foreigners. They also do reviews on different Japanese things and also introduces the Japanese culture. They also have videos that interviews foreigneres as well.



Their videos range from a few minutes to around 20 minutes, and on this spring break, I watched only watched a few videos that added up to around half an hour because I was travelling around a lot.

After watching their videos, it was quite evident to me that what was taught in class was actually used in daily conversations. I paid attention to their grammar that there was grammar that was just recently taught to us that I noticed what used. For example, I heard "んじゃないかと思います” as well as "XXて　あげる／くれる／まらう”. There were also quite a large number of vocabulary that has been taught in class that is used in their answers in the interviews so I try to keep the subtitles off, only turning them on when there are things I don't understand. Watching these videos trains my ears to get used to the way Japanese people speak in natural conversation, so it would make me get used to the way they speak and how fast they speak it. It is also a good way to learn about their culture through their thoughts on different topics and issues.

I really recommend my classmates and others learning Japanese to try and watch their videos because it is really interesting and a good and practical way to practice your Japanaese!

最悪の日

私の最悪の日はたぶん高校の時でした。

もう、あまり覚えないだけど。。。

あの時、私はずっと両親と友達を喧嘩したから、毎日の朝起きたの時、元気じゃなかった。

ある日、私は遅く起きましたから、ははにおこされた。学校に行く前にもう気持ちが悪かったでした。

そしに、宿題を学校へ持って行かなかった、クラスの前に先生に叱られた。

その上に、数学のテストで悪い点を取った。母は学校の図書館の先生から、数学の先生から悪い点の事を聞こえました。家に帰って、晩ご飯を食べたとき、母にもう一度家族の前に叱られた。恥ずかしくて、悔しくて、晩ご飯を食べなかった。

私の人生で今まで一番怖かった災害 － 台風 ハト

マカオ では、地震じしんや津波つなみは多おおくないです。とても ラッキー な場所ばしょです。私わたしは本当ほんとうにそう思おもっているけど、台風たいふうは来きたとき、そう思おもっていませんです。



２０１７年ねんの ８月がつ２３日にち、台風たいふうハト は マカオ に来きた。


最初さいしょはあまり怖こわくないです。マカオ の気象台きしょうだいは マカオ の人にんに信しんじられないから、みんなはあまり準備じゅんびしなかったです。私わたしも気象台きしょうだいにしんじないから、２２日にちに寮りょうへ行いきました。２３日にちの午前ごぜん１１時ときに起おきました。あの時とき、曇くもりでしたが、雨あめと風かぜがなっかた。でも、午後ごご2時ときぐらい大雨おおあめが降ふって、風かぜも強つよく吹ふいていました。とても怖こわかった。私わたしの キャンパス は横おう琴きんにあります。とても広ひろいから、洪水こうずいがありませんでしたが、建物たてものは風かぜに壊こわされた。でも、マカオ は洪水こうずいになりました。人にんたちは車くるまと店みせを救きゅうけたいから、駐車場ちゅうしゃじょうと店みせに行いって、救たすけるつもりでしたが、洪水こうずいはとても強つよくだったから、洪水こうずいに逃にげられなっかた。ニュース によると 12人にんが死しんでしまった。とても悲かなしかった。


私わたしはずっと寮りょうでいた。寮りょうで電気でんきと水みずを切きったが、私わたしと ルームメイト は水みずを準備じゅんびしていたから、シャワー を浴あびることができます。私わたしは次つぎの日にちに家いえに帰かえりました。その時とき、２～３日間にちかん、家いえは水みずがないから、道みちで fire hydrant を水みずを取とって、家いえに持もっていきました。家いえは ５階かいから、苦くるしかった。あの時とき、道みちは全部ぜんぶゴミ だったから、ゴミ は中国ちゅうごくの アーミー と ボランティア（仕事しごとと学校がっこうは休やすむ人ひと）に捨すてられました。


経験けいけんは怖こわかったけど、あの日にちマカオ の人にんは災害さいがいに準備じゅんびの事ことが大切たいせつを教おしえてもらわれた。
